A Very British Christmas

Plot

Opera singer Jessica's flight to her concert in Vienna gets delayed and she is stranded in Yorkshire. The only place to stay is a bed-and-breakfast in an enchanting village run by a handsome widower named Andrew.

My Thoughts

This is basically a Hallmark style Christmas movie. Within it's genre it is pretty good. It is strange hearing Rachel Shenton putting on an American style accent when I am used to hearing her in All Creatures Great and Small speaking in a Yorkshire dialect. There were all the usual impracticalities that you get with this type of film and the typical cheese factor. But it is nice to see it set in a town that I am familiar with unlike all the American/Canadian made films. There is of course the typical trope of one of the characters thinking there is no way the relationship can work because of their career - again a more usual American plot line.
