Home Alone

My Thoughts

This is the first time I have seen this movie, even though it is 33 years old. So many people talk about it as a festive favourite that I decided it was high time I watched it. I really enjoyed it. I have heard that one and two are good but then they go downhill.
Some wider thoughts that this film spawned. As this is such a classic film of that era. Could this be why so many children of the next generation have been totally spoiled and grow up to become adults with no life skills beyond social media... Ironically it was the act of Kevin being left on his own that allowed him to develop skills. If we go back to the mid 1800s most children of his age would be responsible for a wide range of chores and a couple of years later be working. Heaven forbid we go back to those times, unless something horrific happens. But it could be argued that children are far more capable that they are allowed to be.
Nevertheless, putting aside the social sciences it was a fun film that I would be happy to watch again.
